Our li’l angel’s solid food adventure started a month ago. His first taste was Cerelac Wheat and Soya. So far Nigel has tasted and loved apples, bananas, carrots, grapes, sweet potatoes and papaya. Every morning mommy lets him drink an ounce of freshly squeezed dalandan or orange juice. We’ve had no problem feeding him fruits. It’s sad though, he seems to be allergic to mangoes. Rashes appeared on his face on the day I feed it to him. I know most babies like potatoes. I’m very sure Nigel will enjoy eating french fries and potato chips like all kids. But for now, he’s not a big fan of the mashed version. The moment a small amount entered his mouth, his face crumpled! I thought he was just trying to get used to the potato's taste and starchy texture but the when he started spitting every bite I gave him, it was more than enough sign he hated it. His reaction was even worse when I gave him squash just yesterday. Though he did not spit it out like the potato, he cried (yes, with real tears flowing from his eyes) while eating. The tears did not deter me. Nanny Weng and I just entertained with toys and such him as he consumed a significant amount of the mashed squash. I am going to try feeding him the potatoes again next week. He needs to get used to the bland taste of veggies. No picky eater here!

I love/hate solid food!

Good for you! It's tough, but just keep at it. He obviously likes the sweetness of fruit, and is not so keen on his vegies.
baka ayaw nya yung grainy texture c:
Good luck going down your journey to solid foods! Feeding my kiddos was always one of my favorite things to do with them when they were babies. So much fun!
Your baby probably prefer fruits from vegetables. In time he will also learn to like the taste of some vegetables. He is so cute and has grown very fast. Thanks for the post. God bless you always.
