“The Punisher” Shirt

Last December I made a “The Punisher” T-shirt for Butch. Their Christmas party’s theme was Marvel comics and he chose this character.

How I made it:

  1. I printed the punisher logo I got from the internet.
  2. To make a stencil of the skull, I traced the outline of the logo with a black ball pen on an acetate film.
  3. With a cutter I carefully cut out the skull, the eye sockets and nostrils.
  4. I inserted a ¼ illustration board inside a black shirt just beneath the area I want the logo on. This served as a board while I painted. Doing this will help create the weathered look of the skull because the board will absorb some of the paint.
  5. I positioned the stencil on the shirt and secured it with scotch tape making sure it wouldn’t move while I painted. I did the same thing with the eye sockets and nostrils.
  6. I painted the area with no acetate film with white textile ink. I did three layers of paint waiting for each layer to dry.
  7. I waited about three hours for the paint to completely dry. I removed the stencil and the scotch tape and viola! – “the Punisher” shirt.

Its so cool! I think I am gonna make one for myself with a baby tee.

The other side of BOHOL

These pictures were taken in Bohol when my wife Wendy and I celebrated our first year anniversary. Nope, the pictures are not that of the Tarsiers or the Chocolate hills but of other interesting sites and things we saw there. Just click the image to see a bigger version.

from left: 1) Cebu pacific plane unloading our stuff. Our flight was almost 2 hours late!! 2) Loboc River 3) a seemingly unhappy primate endemic to the Philippines. It was very playful it kept touching my camera as I took pictures 4) a chandelier in the hotel we stayed in, the MetroCentre Hotel, Tagbilaran City.

from left: 1) tarsier souvenirs 2) a beautiful view of a rice field. I took this as we ascended one of the hills in Chocolate hills 3) a hardworking boatman in Loboc River 4) another view as we ascended Chocolate hills.

from left: 1) a starfish that looks really fake! Wendy spotted it, picked it up and said "somebody left their toy starfish here, honey!" Examining it real closely, I saw it had moving pores at the back we then concluded it was real. 2) a stray dog in Alona beach 3) a beautiful yellow bird another animal endemic to the Philippines.

from left 1) condiments from one of the bars in Alona Beach 2. A hibiscus flower in Baclayon Church vicinity 3) Baclayon Church tower.

I am posting this picture the biggest because its our favorite. This was in Alona Beach, Panglao Island.

MANILA PENINSULA UNDER SIEGE!!

These pictures were taken last November 29, 2007 in Makati City. Yes, on the day Antonio Trillanes IV, Gen. Danilo Lim and other Magdalo members hostaged the second floor of the hotel demanding the resignation of Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. It was a scary day for a typical Makati employee like me. Office hours were shortened but we couldn’t go out. Fortunately, they surrendered and it was a fantastic Photo-op for me!!
