1. Make a list of the basic things the baby will need. If you’re a first time mom like me, ask the help of your mommy friends or relatives.
2. Ask friends and relatives if they have baby stuff they can give you like crib, clothes, toys etc. As for me, my sister is going to give me her bottle sterilizer, receiving blankets and some age specific toys. This is going to save me a lot of money.
3. Invest on things that the baby will be using for a long time like milk bottles. Do not splurge on clothes or shoes, the baby will outgrow it soon.
4. When shopping, compare prices and quality of products. Some stores display the products according to brand. Do not let the sales personnel sway you into buying all their recommendations. Look around first, and then pick the most reasonably-priced.
If you mommies out there have other tips to share feel free to leave a comment. A first time mom like need all the help I can get =)

hi wendy :) same tayo, marami pang dapat bilhin. good for you, meron kang hand me downs.
hhmm.. you know what wendy... we shopped after the Baby Shower.. did you have your Baby Shower yet?
hi wendy! when are you due? :)
sana magkalapit lang tayo... ang kaso lang ang layo natin eh.
anyway, you are correct! do not buy clothes.. just few ones or if you have hand me downs, that is even better.
bottles, dont buy a lot if you intend to breastfeed. i breastfed my kids and they are healthy and it is the best gift you can ever give to them! :) and you get to bond with them too... and its an experience you will never forget talaga.
crib, strollers and other stuff... i bought new ones when i had my first baby... but i didnt get to use them as much as i wanted... so if you have second hand items, its okay too... as long as they are still sturdy.
diapers will be a good investment :)
toys are not worth investing since newborns will be sleeping most of the time...
if you dont have a camera, you should invest on one :) so you can capture all those "moments" :)
hm... ill comment again as i remember other stuff, you can also chat with me at YM if you'd like.
hope i was able to help!
if you are buying baby clothes, buy only a few newborn sizes and then yung iba, for 5 & 9-month sizes na. babies grow too fast these days! also, if you are breastfeeding, have a breast pump handy. you never know when you need to pump out your milk. it can be very painful if your breasts are full of milk na and your baby doesn't want to feed yet. hope this helps mommy! and God bless you on your delivery. hope all goes well.
btw, i got awards for you. here's the link: http://seasons.pinoyvibes.net/2008/12/09/the-lemonade-and-mary-antoinette-awards/ hope you can pass them on if you have the time. thanks!

Just About Anything
Hey.... Good for you... I went shopping for my twins and stacked up on bottles... NEVER knew about the BPA thing till 2 months after they were born... AAAAAAHHHH had to donate all those bottles (to a plant nursery, not for use by other kids... it would have eaten me up inside) and had to but a whole NEW stash... I'm glad you're putting it out there...
Also be aware that BPA is in the sippy cups, and pacifiers...
happy hunting...
