The right sleeping position when pregnant

Lately, I’ve been finding it hard to get comfortable when sleeping. Nigel doesn’t seem to like the position I am comfortable in. I like sleeping on my side facing right. But when I am in this position, I would feel Nigel moving restlessly inside my tummy. Kicking and complaining, I imagine him saying “mommy, I don’t like this position! Please move!”

He seems to be okay when I lay on my back. But this is quite uncomfortable for me. I feel like I am losing breath when I am in this position. Probably because the weight of the baby and all my organs are all weighing me down. I find comfort when my head and upper body are raised. For this reason, I
use two pillows when sleeping. This also helps prevent heartburn, which I experience a lot these days.

But what is the best position to sleep when pregnant anyway? Amy, my sister (who happens to be a doctor- I am very fortunate to be living with one. I could bug her with my medical questions anytime) explained it to me. The best position is to lie on your side facing left. This keeps the blood circulation of the baby as well as mommy’s well-regulated. It is also advisable to support your leg and abdomen with a pillow.

Hi.
I also had a hard time to sleep during pregnancy, specially in the last couple months.
My daughter was very big so all space was for her, lol.
The only way I could sleep was like in the picture you posted but I didn´t know it was the correct one. It makes sense, because this way the baby doesn´t make so much pressure in our organs.
Cheers.

it's true the left side is the best. I've read it countless of times when I was prego myself. It will get worse as you do the home stretch, but with sweet anticipation of your little one, it will all be worth it. You're in my prayers. God bless!
