“The Punisher” Shirt

Last December I made a “The Punisher” T-shirt for Butch. Their Christmas party’s theme was Marvel comics and he chose this character.

How I made it:

  1. I printed the punisher logo I got from the internet.
  2. To make a stencil of the skull, I traced the outline of the logo with a black ball pen on an acetate film.
  3. With a cutter I carefully cut out the skull, the eye sockets and nostrils.
  4. I inserted a ¼ illustration board inside a black shirt just beneath the area I want the logo on. This served as a board while I painted. Doing this will help create the weathered look of the skull because the board will absorb some of the paint.
  5. I positioned the stencil on the shirt and secured it with scotch tape making sure it wouldn’t move while I painted. I did the same thing with the eye sockets and nostrils.
  6. I painted the area with no acetate film with white textile ink. I did three layers of paint waiting for each layer to dry.
  7. I waited about three hours for the paint to completely dry. I removed the stencil and the scotch tape and viola! – “the Punisher” shirt.

Its so cool! I think I am gonna make one for myself with a baby tee.
